About the role
Communication and visual storytelling was the main part of the role – creating graphic design and layout for various stages of the business, everything from content in our social media channels to reports and PDF-documents that were sent out to partners and members. Another part was continuous work to increase our social media presence, reach, engagement rate and followers.
In the beginning of 2020, I was straight out of Uni and had just gotten my first job which promted a move from Lund to Stockholm. Barely two months later, COVID hits and you know the drill.
Days at the office, breaks in the sun, lunch walk to my favorite coffee place, and evening networking events with female entrepreneurs was quickly replaced by home office and eternal Zoom meetings on crappy network connection. I chose to move back to my apartment in Lund to be closer to home and worked from there when we realized that the remote office day-to-day life was here to stay.
As a result of the “corona effect”, my role evolved from full-time to part-time after six months, leading me to start studying again in August 2020, this time majoring in Digital Marketing, and working alongside.
"Sigrid has a special eye for design and has demonstrated great creativity and powerful designs when creating content for our digital channels. I was impressed with how she quickly understood the message and the tone that we were looking to convey in our external communication."
A new design
One of the first things I did when entering the role was to develop a new design for our digital channels. Building upon the already well-established graphic profile in terms of logo, colors and font, and instead further develop the visual expression.
My focus was to create a stylish, appealing and, above all, consistent design that reflected the company with the goal of establishing recognition and brand awareness.
Since the website was already in place and up an running when I joined, my responsibilities in terms of the website was mainly managing it with updates following our day-to-day operations.
